The Choir reunites James Corden and Ruth Jones for Apple TV
James Corden and Ruth Jones reunite for their first project since the Gavin & Stacey finale in a new comedy-drama, The Choir, premiering on Apple TV in 2027.

Ruth Jones and James Corden will return with their first joint project since the Gavin & Stacey finale, creating a new comedy-drama series for Apple TV. The series, titled The Choir, is set for a global premiere in 2027. This marks their first collaboration since Gavin & Stacey concluded as the UK's most-watched show on Christmas Day 2024. The new project is a departure from their previous hit, which was produced by Steve Coogan’s Baby Cow and Corden’s Fulwell Entertainment. The Choir is produced by Various Artists Limited and TidyTwo for Apple TV. Filming is already underway for the eight-episode series, which will stream on the platform as part of its 2027 launch.
Estranged siblings at the heart of a musical drama
The Choir follows estranged siblings Ben and Lisa, played by James Corden and Ruth Jones. They haven't seen each other for several years. Ben has been living abroad, while Lisa has remained in their small English town. Events force Ben to return to a life he never wanted, a town he never liked, and a family from which he’s estranged. The series is described as being about family, friendship, love and music. It aims to bring together characters from different backgrounds with various life experiences. Ruth Jones explained the core idea. "There was just this idea to bring this group of characters together from different backgrounds, all sorts of different things going on in their lives," she said.
Star-studded cast confirmed for The Choir
The series features an extensive ensemble cast. A host of confirmed stars will join Corden and Jones. The lineup includes several notable guest appearances from major names.
