Coleen Rooney is launching her debut fashion collection with Primark. Her family's new reality series, The Real Rooneys, begins streaming on Disney+ from September 24.

The show presents a side of the Rooneys they have never shown before. It follows Coleen, wife of ex-footballer Wayne Rooney, and their four sons. The series blends their fantastic luxury with ordinary domestic rituals. It aims to redefine a family whose personalities have been dissected in tabloids every week for two decades. The Rooneys recall their working-class childhoods in Croxteth, Liverpool, but admit they have left ordinary life behind. Their Cheshire mansion features a cinema, indoor pool, and adjacent football pitch, accessed by a bridge over a lake.

Wayne Rooney appears as a decent dad, more thoughtful on subjects like fame. The couple's children are described as the stars of the show. Their personalities are not tamed by media training. Eldest son Kai joked 'bro’s up for the cameras' on a rare morning when Wayne was up early. Sons Kit and Cass trade cheeky jibes and slug it out in a boxing ring under their grandad's watch. The series is a polished, family-friendly watch emphasizing fun over raw emotion, though it includes the odd tear and raised voice. Coleen Rooney is portrayed as the brilliant, organised glue holding the family together.

Coleen Rooney's Primark Launch and Media Strategy

Coleen Rooney is leveraging her reality TV appearance to launch a fashion line with Primark. Episode one of the series revolves around her attending meetings with buyers and strategists at the retailer. Primark bosses describe her as a good fit due to her authenticity, relatability, and down-to-earth nature. She is working to capitalise on a recent appearance on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! Coleen mentioned at the premiere that Disney-captured footage is a great keepsake to see her boys growing up. A reviewer suggested a second series could happen next year.

The show uses techniques to suggest unfussiness, like spinning the camera to reveal the crew. The family's bantering humour is on full display. Son Klay performed a parody of a nasal Mancunian football pundit praising Wayne's past prowess. Coleen, approximately 25 yards away on the same settee, was in hysterics. She also reacted genuinely and self-deprecatingly when shown a photo gallery of her questionable public outfits. The series received a verdict of four stars.

Wayne Rooney's Career Shift and Family Moments

Wayne Rooney is transitioning from football management to broadcasting. He left his role as manager of Plymouth Argyle by mutual agreement and is plotting more media appearances to become a regular on Match of the Day. The first four episodes focus on changes over the last twelve months. They contain no mention of Wayne's past bad behaviour. Family moments include him sleeping in for the school run and drinking in a golf clubhouse, making Coleen wait two hours for a drive to Scotland. After that drinking session, Coleen told him only he could fix his behaviour.

One of the kids said Coleen had thrown high heels at Wayne in a row. Paul Stretford hopes the series will change people's opinion of Wayne. After filming finished, Wayne Rooney looked in good shape at the London premiere and has reportedly stopped drinking alcohol. The series shows him sharing his wife’s willingness to be the butt of a joke. Stream The Real Rooneys on Disney+ from September 24.
