Robert De Niro's The Whisper Man Tops

Robert De Niro's new Netflix film, The Whisper Man, is currently the number one movie on the streaming service in the United States. According to data from FlixPatrol, the crime thriller also holds the second-place spot on the Netflix Top 10 Movies in the World list.

Globally, the film is only preceded by Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. That 26-minute preview is not classified as a standard feature film, making De Niro's project the top traditional movie worldwide.

Upcoming De Niro Projects

This success comes ahead of a busy period for the actor. In November, De Niro will return to the role of Jack Byrnes for the first time in over 15 years. The new film, Focker-in-Law, reunites him with co-stars Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo. It also teams him with singer Ariana Grande.

Last year, De Niro kept a similarly full schedule. He starred in the films The Alto Knights and Tin Soldier. He also led the Netflix political thriller miniseries Zero Day and participated in the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special.

A Look at Past Roles
