Stacey Solomon and Alesha Dixon named new hosts of The Voice

ITV has named Stacey Solomon and Alesha Dixon as the new presenters of The Voice UK. The announcement is part of a wider revamp for the singing competition's next series, which began filming on Friday.

Singer Cheryl and rapper Aitch will join the coaching panel. They will sit in the show's famous giant red chairs alongside returning coaches Kelly Rowland and Will.I.Am. The changes follow the departure of long-time host Emma Willis and coach Sir Tom Jones.

New hosting and coaching lineup

Stacey Solomon rose to fame after finishing second on The X Factor in 2009. She now hosts the BBC show Sort Your Life Out. Alesha Dixon first found fame in the girl group Mis-Teeq. She has judged on Strictly Come Dancing and Britain's Got Talent, and hosted the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool.

Cheryl launched her career with Girls Aloud. She later became a solo artist and served as a judge on The X Factor. Aitch is a Manchester-born rapper known for hits including Rain and Taste (Make It Shake). ITV said the new panel combines "legendary industry experience with a vibrant competitive spirit."

Sir Tom Jones's departure

The revamp comes after Sir Tom Jones said he had been removed from the series. The 86-year-old stated he was offered a "much-reduced role" which he was "not thrilled about." He said the reason given was "a financial difficulty with insurance."

"They now say in the press they wanted to 'refresh' the show, and with a new coaching line-up there wouldn't be a chair for me," Sir Tom said. He concluded: "The only thing I know right now is that there's never a good time to fire an 86-year-old who's still pretty good at his job." ITV thanked him for his "irreplaceable" contributions.

Other changes behind the scenes

Emma Willis had presented the show since 2014. She recently left to front the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. McFly stars Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, who shared a coaching chair for the last two series, are also not returning. ITV thanked them all for their "brilliant contributions."

Willis will still appear on screen for the rest of the currently airing series, which was filmed in 2025. This means viewers will see her hosting two different Saturday night prime-time shows this autumn - Strictly Come Dancing for BBC One and The Voice UK for ITV.

The Voice UK launched in 2012, originally hosted by Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates. The show moved from the BBC to ITV in 2017. Its format involves coaches turning their backs during auditions. They spin around if they want to see and mentor a contestant.
